Overview
Project Background
Biomass production activities such as planting and animal husbandry, along with their processing and utilization, generate substantial amounts of biowaste. This waste exceeds the microbial decomposition capacity of regional ecosystems, disrupts nutrient cycling within the biosphere, and has become a constraint on achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
Mission Statement
The 5B Initiative (Biowaste, Bioconversion, Bioproduct, Biosafety, and Bioeconomy) is a global collaborative initiative designed to foster international exchanges, overcome bottlenecks in the resource utilization of bio-based solid waste worldwide, advance the circular bioeconomy, and ultimately achieve sustainable development goals for humanity.
